Happy Summer Solstice! It is amazing that today marks the longest day of the year.
For the summer, remember to soak up your Vitamin D early in the morning (before 10:30) with as much skin exposed as you dare and then protect your skin from the sun for the rest of the day. The best sunscreen is a light-weight long sleeved shirt, pants and a wide-brimmed sunhat. Otherwise, we recommend that you use organic sunscreen like Earth’s Best. Most skin cancer occurs on the lips, nose and ears, so be sure to protect those areas well. Drink at least 1/2 your body weight in oz. of water every day, more with vigorous exercise. Some ideas to stay cool are: refreshing drinks like chia seed frescas (chia seeds, water, mint, organic lemon or lime juice, a pinch of sea salt and a touch of maple syrup or stevia), lots of time biking, hiking and running on the shaded single-track trails, and time sitting by the rivers up in the Uintas… For those of you who we have recommended avoid raw and cold food, now is the time to indulge! If your tongue starts to get flabby, just back off a little. Stay up later, socialize more and enjoy the abundant Summer energy.
We have been incredibly busy, and for that I want to thank each and every one of you for your support, for your referrals and for your confidence in us. We are trying to keep up with demands, and I appreciate your patience.
There are some amazing developments taking place at Mountain Sage that I am eager to share with you… In order to help streamline Mountain Sage, we are implementing several changes:
First, I would like to announce that we are bringing in another amazing woman to help us run the clinic. Her name is Laura Ritter, and she will work part time through the summer, with the intention to move into a full time position in the fall. Laura will help us with scheduling, emailing, accounting, setting up various systems, marketing and medicinary. Her first official day was yesterday, and we are very excited to have her help. You can reach her at 435-655-SAGE (7243). Jet will come to work with me on Saturdays, will help with the office when Laura is away and is now helping us at home with our daughters. She continues to be an amazing support to us.
After five years of being in practice, and after the insistence of many of our long standing and respected patients, we have decided to raise our prices and change our pricing structure. We will still be the least expensive Naturopathic Doctors in town, and will still work with those of you who are in tight financial situations. The new program will start July 15 and looks like this:
- 45 minute acupuncture: $85 (this is for established conditions and gives us time just for tongue and pulse diagnosis and a treatment)
- 1 hour 15 minute acupuncture: $125 (this is our standard treatment, allows time for new symptoms or conditions and extra time to check in, as well as tongue and pulse diagnosis)
- Package of 10 acupuncture sessions at 1 hour 15 minutes: $950
- New patient naturopathic and acupuncture consults (about 1 hour 45 minutes): $175
- 30 minute naturopathic consult: $60
- 1 hour 15 minute Chiren: $165
- 1 hour 30 minute Chiren and Acupuncture: $195
- IV Therapy (standard): $125
The new pricing will enable us to bring in more help (Laura), and this means that we can spend more time in the treatment rooms (i.e. we won’t have to leave the sessions to sign for packages, or be gone as long to make formulas).
Brad is getting set up to teach some more classes, including anti-inflammatory cooking classes, Tai Chi, Qi Gong and overall health and wellness classes. We would like to start offering some support groups, lectures and workshops in the evenings. Please let us know if there are specific topics you would like know more about and we will keep you informed of upcoming events.
I continue to be very impressed by the results we are seeing with the Chiren and the biophoton treatment. Please let Laura or me know if you would like additional information or would like to set up a series of appointments. It takes about an average of 8 treatments for the Light to become fully “coherent”, although several of my patients have made it all the way through in three or four treatments. The Chiren is incredibly useful for difficult or recalcitrant issues.
We are updating our webpage, and will add in more information about the Chiren, blogging and add an on-line store. The store will have the ability for you to order supplement refills on-line, with the ability to dropship them directly to your house. We hope to have this up and running by early August. Our website is www.mountainsagenaturalhealth.com
There is a chance that we will bring in some more practitioners this Fall. Some people who have expressed interest are a midwife, a doula group for hypnobirthing classes, another acupuncturist and herbalist, a shaman and a Naturopathic resident.
Both Brad and I are happy to be a part of the WellBEing Collaborative and Healthy Happy Human Beings, pioneered by Jennifer Mulholland.
Thank you all again, very much for your continued support. As always, I appreciate any feedback you have about our practice and our services. May your Summer days be filled with an abundance of Love, Light and Laughter. May you find gratitude in every moment and bask in the glory of radiant health and well-being.
Very sincerely and with much love,
Dr. Babbie
